Theory Course Cost: $50.00 per person
A driving assessment is required to complete this course. The cost is $60.00 per person and paid directly to the driving instructor and not through Highland Park Community House.
Pre enrolment and payment is essential for the Defensive Driving Course. You are able to make a tentative booking but will only be confirmed once payment is received. Refund Policy If the course is cancelled, we will inform you and refund your fee. If you withdraw at least 3 days before the course commencement date, we will refund your fee less an administration charge. Monies will be refunded within a 2 week period. Thereafter, course fees are committed and we cannot make refunds.
Street Talk is an approved NZTA Defensive Driving Course run by experienced driving instructor Ray Clark. This course reduces the restricted licence period by 6 months for the under 25 driver, and by 3 months for those over 25. Street Talk has been revised to include skills that will help both learner and Restricted Licence driver pass the new Driving Tests.
Any licence holder can now do this course.
The course teaches you how to recognise hazards on the roads and how to avoid dangerous situations that lead to accidents. It is an intensive and interactive course that comprises of 4 x two hour evening sessions in a classroom followed by a one on one practical on-road session.
Howick and Pakuranga Community Houses Management Committee and the Howick Local Board support this course each term and encourages young New Zealanders to drive safely.
